A body of work exploring life and work in the near future.
The books take different forms — narrative, applied, and reflective — but share a common focus: how people think, decide, and act within complexity.
Each can be read on its own, or as part of a wider progression.

The Quiet Loom Series.

The Quiet Loom is a series of interconnected stories set in a near future that feels recognisably close — workplaces, cities, and lives shaped by quiet but significant shifts in how people work, lead, and choose what matters.
At the heart of the series is Lumi Valen, a fashion designer who moves between organisations and communities at moments of transition. Lumi’s role is never to take over or prescribe solutions, but to help surface what is already present — the tensions people avoid, the choices they postpone, the values they haven’t yet named.
Each book enters a different human territory: finding direction when work no longer fits old assumptions, carrying responsibility without authority, building belonging across difference, and choosing a life deliberately rather than by default. The stories unfold through conversations, decisions, and consequences — often small, sometimes uncomfortable, always human.
These are not tales of heroic change or perfect outcomes. They are stories about attention — to systems, to people, and to the subtle moments where the future quietly takes shape. Read together, the books trace a living thread through a more thoughtful, workable tomorrow.

The Edible Forms Series.

The Edible Forms is a speculative fiction series set on a near-future Earth, where food has evolved into a form of design — shaped through techniques such as 3D printing, precision baking, and sculptural making. What is created is not only tasted, but seen, handled, and experienced in real time.
The series follows Samir Rahman, a food designer and maker who travels across regions and cultures, developing his craft through the places he works and the people he encounters. His practice blends baking, fabrication, and sensory design, creating edible forms that must hold their structure, respond to their environment, and land with those experiencing them.
As he moves from place to place, Samir’s work becomes more refined but also more demanding. Different contexts call for different responses — what works in one setting doesn’t translate to another, and assumptions don’t hold for long. He learns to pay closer attention to detail, to manage pressure without losing control of his process, to hold his position when needed, and to adapt when conditions don’t behave as expected.
It’s a series about making and progression — about how skill develops over time through experience, judgement, and the ability to create something that works in the moment it is needed.
